Last Minute Christmas Shopping Deals

Good morning errrryone!  First off, sincerest apologies for my lack of posting; I've been super busy with Bobbi-Toads, which is a great thing, of course.  As you [better be] are aware, Christmas is less than a week away.  Still looking for some last minute deals?  Look no further, my shopping obsession is at your service.  Here are some [maybe a few irrational] great gift ideas that any girl, like myself, would be ecstatic to receive:

This Tory Burch Amanda Hobo (on sale for $325.50) is the perfect bag for the day-to-day.  I LOVE that it can be carried on your shoulder or your arm, giving you versatility and convenience.

Juicy Couture Alex Tough Girl--the perfect clutch for a night out...and the inside is royal blue, so in.

Christian Dior's THE LITTLE DICTIONARY OF FASHION.  You can find this gem on Shopbop for $19.95.  Gift-wise, this can work from a stocking stuffer, to a nice hostess gift, to a girls' grab bag gift: perfect for any fashionista in your life.

For only $29.40 (plus shipping, I'm sure), this cut-out cross top is likely to be a fan favorite.  If you want to spend a little more on the gift, pair it with a necklace: either a shorter statement necklace or a longer dainty necklace would look fab.

If I didn't live in Miami, I am quite positive that I'd have an assortment of faux leather leggings (these ones from Topshop for $36.00) in my winter wardrobe. Leather is in right now and I especially wish I had a pair for my trip home to Chicago, a cold one it will be.

Ugh, HOW gorgeous is this dress?  On sale at the Tory Burch site for $486.50.  It's absolutely stunning.  Note: this is clearly one of the irrational suggestions; a girl can dream though, right?

This twisted cross cuff is the perfect accessory you can pair with almost any outfit or occasion.  What a perf stocking stuffer for only $12! (mom..?)

Again, I'm sorry for my lack of posts, but in lieu of that, I'll leave you with this funny photo.  Essentially, I let my boss play dress-up with me.  Happy Holidays!

Watch Out For Knock-Offs This Holiday Season, My Friends

While picking out an outfit for my last post, I was reminded of a very important lesson: be extra conscious of your designer items' authenticity [this holiday season].  It all began when I was looking for a pair of black, suede booties.  Found the cuuutest pair of Christian Louboutins on sale for $197.79.  That's your first red flag; there's no way in hell could you find a pair of authentic Loubs for two hundred bucks, I wish.  We all do.  Unless you're lucky enough to find an extremely inexpensive pair at Nieman's, but both your odds and your options would likely be slim.  Especially thanks to everyone's economically-savvy motives these days, some deals really are too-good-to-be-true and people are unknowingly getting scammed.  So, just some advice to do a little extra research before you click "purchase" on those new designer accessories you're about to buy as a present (or for yourself if you are like me, whoops).  On the other hand, if you don't care whether or not your items are original or not, well, you should.  And if you happen to be in the market to purchase some new Louboutins, A. jeal B. here's a guide for you.

PS here's a photo of the shoes I wish were actually Christian Louboutins for $200.  Or any other well-made, original brand.

And I'm just going to let you guess how badly I wish I had these:
I'm dying.

And here's a pretty song for you to listen to :)

I Wish I Was Wearing This Right Now..

LOVE every single part of this outfit!  I began with the faux fur vest (super trendy right now) and wanted to add some thick, black tights for the winter look.  Originally I thought this would be cute with high-waisted charcoal gray shorts with buttons; however, clearly I found something better along the way: vintage festival retro gray army charcoal high-waisted skater shorts ; woah, that was a mouthful.  They're one of a kind and can be found on ebay.  Added a simple, classy blouse from H&M and wanted something fun in the shoe department, so I went with the Christian Louboutin Daffodiles that I will never be able to afford, and finished the look with a long cross necklace.

Virtual Outfit, November 23, 2012

Getting my cheetah fix with the Jeffrey Campbell Litas and paired them with some simple faux leather leggings from Topshop and a large, comfy AnnaKastle knit sweater.  For some extra spunk, I added a gold spiked leather wrap bracelet and finished it off with a time piece watch necklace for some class.

Pretty Things I Wish I Had

Diane von Furstenburg Mimosa Shearling Clutch I can't decide if I actually like this or it just looks soft, hmm.

So, like, if anyone was wondering what to get me for Christmas.  I kid, I kid.  But maybe the one of the bags or the ring.  Or the Jeffrey Campbells.  Mom, I really hope you're reading this ;)

First and foremost, HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

While Sandy is ripping up parts of America, Miami has gotten extremely lucky, and she seems to have made the weather even nicer by adding a cool breeze.  While it's a chilly 74 degrees, I could not be more excited, because we all know what that means: Fall fashion! (go ahead, make fun of us Miami folk for saying it's chilly)

I started this outfit with the Ash Titanic studded boots, well, because I really want them (or something like 'em).  I knew the next step would be pairing it with leggings, but I wasn't sure what kind until I picked out the Equipment silk shirt.  Really, any black leggings would look good with this, but I chose the American Apparel Glossy Nylon Tricot High-Waist Leggings to spice it up a little bit.  Add a few spiky bangles and then calm it down with a cute, long owl necklace and you're all set and for sure lookin' fab.

Bobbi-Toads

There are few moments in life that I have been happier.  Today we officially opened our site to the public.

For those of you who do not know me personally, I will give a brief background story of Bobbi-Toads.  When I was younger, while on vacation with my family in San Francisco, my dad had a dream in which God told him to invent these shoes for little girls, what to name them, what they should look like, and even specific charities to help with proceeds.  Freaky to say the least; especially because my dad, whom I've nicknamed "Bobo", is not necessarily one for fashion.  However, he happens to be a faithful believer and an excellent businessman.  Years of hard work later, here we are today with a unique product to offer young girls.  I present you with Bobbi-Toads, the shoes that let you walk in style:

These shoes (I'm hoping!) could be the next big thing for young girls.  You paint the "toes" on the shoes with Bobbi-Polish (or any other nail polish) and can remove and repaint as much as you'd like, to match your mood or your outfit.  The shoes are currently being offered in six different styles from sizes 11-5 and exclusively sold on bobbitoads.com.  This has been a big part of my life, these past few years especially, and I cannot wait to see where this project is headed.

As always, thank you, everyone, for all the support you've given my family and me on our adventure; we could not be more blessed.

Etsy Jewelry That I LOVE

Today I thought it would be nice to help promote some random Etsy shops.  As I'm well aware, it's hard to get started, especially living in an economy such as today's.  So, here are some of the cutest accessories I've come across that I would recommend (and at great, reasonable prices!) :

I was going to post the most adorable owl bangles, but since they're so unique, there was only one product and it was no longer available...because I bought them, heheh.  I first discovered LuckyPeacockGems because it's my friend's mom's Etsy shop.  So, of course, you're going to assume I'm biased, but check out all the cute jewelry for yourself!  If you're into the so-called "haute" fashion, and looking to purchase at a reasonable price, it's sure not to disappoint.

Bianca is a friend, sorority sister, and, now, jewelry connoisseur & maker whom I adore.  Check out her stuff on her Etsy site to see exactly what I'm talking about.  As you know, there is now way I would promote anything I don't absolutely love.

While I'm not necessarily into the whole skull trend, I do think that adding a little bit here and there (such as adding the above bracelets to any look) is a great way to stay fashion-forward while not overdoing it.

Hard to believe, but it actually took me awhile to find this gem.  All I wanted wanted was an elephant ring (Simple, right? Wrong.).  The perfect ones are harder to come by than you'd think.  For the most part, I'm into gold jewelry, so that was the first criterion.  I also needed to make sure that the elephant's trunk was up, as this indicates good luck.  And, well, that was it.  But here is, by far, my favorite one I came across.  So, to the lucky, soon-to-be owner of this piece, you're welcome. (There's only one left, so grab it while you can!)

Alright, well, I think I've covered almost all of today's major trends in jewelry: anchors, owls, bows, hamsa, infinity charms, sideways crosses, skulls, buddha, and elephants--that's what's up.  Check out what else these stylish Etsy shop owners have to offer by going to their pages and supporting the small business movement.

Peace, Love, & Fashion-

DIY Jeans to Jorts

So, I've been loving on the new dolled up jorts trend and have been trying to make some myself in my spare time, it's super easy!

Basically, you just take an old pair of jeans, fold them inside out, snip-snip, hem if you want (probs don't use a straightener to ensure the adhesion, rather an iron would work better, but whatever, it works), then I dyed the shorts darker, trimmed some cute fabric, cut it out to the size of the pockets, stitch-witchery them on and BAM!  Seriously though, super easy, try it!

Virtual Outfit, October 14, 2012

I started this outfit with the cutest high-waisted denim shorts and added a plain crop top to keep things cool.  Paired with some versatile Steve Madden sandals and finished off with beautiful Lauren Conrad earrings and long necklace (a personal daily necessity).  Simple, comfortable, and cute.

Virtual Outfit, October 10, 2012

After a short hiatus, I'm back.  I apologize, but as many of you are aware, I have been focusing my efforts on Bobbi-Toads as we are getting close to product launch.  Since I was in Chicago this past weekend, I thought I'd throw a nice Fall outfit at you guys.  I hope you find this combo as aesthetically pleasing as I do!

Virtual Outfit, September 27, 2012

Today's virtual outfit is just plain comfy and fab.  Pairing the main piece, the coral maxi skirt, with some Jeffrey Campbell Litas, and you've already got the comfy and fab parts down.  Adding to the comfort with a simple Amer Appar crop top, and on to a couple accessories like cute Marc Jacobs sunnies, a long hamsa necklace, and some sideways cross bracelets and you're good to go.

Now, again, time to pick out my own outfit for today!

Virtual Outfit, September 25, 2012

Instead of putting together an outfit from my closet for this cloudy day in Miami, I've put together a virtual one for some inspiration.  Piecing together items from some of my favorite websites/stores, today's outfit is comfy and casual, fit for a relaxing Tuesday.

My First Post, Welcome!

The Premiere
Welp, here goes nothing, I'm not much of a writer, so I'll keep my intro to the min.  Like any other girl, I've always enjoyed looking at pretty things, but I think my true love for fashion emerged once I said "peace" to my Catholic school uniforms and came down to Florida to attend college at The University of Miami (and I could not possibly say that more proudly).  It took me awhile to find my style niche, while also adjusting to almost-always-hot weather down in Miami, but I'm pretty sure I've found it, along with a new love.  Not only did being surrounded by fashion and -istas help me get my start, but I think a semester over in Prague did my style well, too.  I love classic, vintage fashion, and I'm a firm believer that a good pair of shoes and the right accessories can turn any outfit into something unique and trendy.

I'm really not even sure where this blog will take you (or me?), but follow along for fashion insights.
